While Scott Weiland spent the late '90s in drug rehabilitation and working on his solo album, the rest of Stone Temple Pilots -- namely guitarist Dean DeLeo, his brother Robert on bass and drummer Eric Kretz -- formed Talk Show with Dave Coutts, formerly the vocalist of Ten Inch Men. The group had begun rehearsing as early as mid-1995, though the debut Talk Show album wasn't released until September 1997.
