Glam pop band
the New Electrics were formed in Birmingham, England, by drummer
Pete Dabbs, vocalist/guitarist Nick Ingram, bassist/vocalist
Mark Lees, and guitarist/vocalist
Ben Marsden. The band's first release, Beautiful Mind, was released in a limited pressing by Interior. Fruition obtained the rights to it and reissued the single in April of 1999, which was hailed by the NME as a potent mix of
Suede and
Slade. Three months later, the Get Together single was issued, adding
Sparks to the list of positive comparisons. The band's third single was issued in 2001, and a full-length was scheduled for release later in the year.
