Keith Richards IS the Rolling Stones.
He might be rock music’s greatest rhythm guitar player and author to some of music’s greatest riffs. Think of the leads from ” Jumping Jack Flash, Gimme Shelter, Brown Sugar, Satisfaction, Can’t You Hear Me Knockin’, Start Me Up and countless other album tracks. He lives and dies for his band in spite of it’s ups and downs.
A disciple of Chuck Berry; a devoted student of American rhythm AND blues; champion of open G tuning with 5 stringed guitars - he can command any stage he sets foot.
Keith Richards is a restless soul – all he has ever wanted to do is play. The Rolling Stones may have overstayed their welcome but as long as Keith is running the show, there will always be greatness. Just listen the Stones’ most recent single “Doom & Gloom” and you know that there’s plenty of riffs left in that guitar of his.
