What happened on June 17th
Guitarist Eddie Van Halen filed a lawsuit against Nike in Los Angeles Friday, alleging the company used the trademarked striped design from his guitar on their new line of "Dunk Lows" tennis shoes.
The Nike shoes feature red, white and black streaks along the midsole. The suit states that Van Halen received a 2001 copyright for the design on the body of his "Frankenstein" electric guitar.
Court papers allege that Nike infringed on that copyright by using the design on sneakers without "consent, approval or license

A hero..and a zero.. at the GNR gig on Sunday night.. Sebastian Bach..was the hero.. after he stopped a knife weilding man.. from approaching Axl Rose..Bach, along with a host of stars including Mickey Rourke and Ryan Phillippe, was at the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York for an exclusive GNR show ..Security evicted the nutbar.. who walked in while the band was onstage.. pulled the knife..and flicked the blade out..

Kevin Smith was thrown off a Southwest Airlines flight Saturday for being a "safety risk" -- a polite way of saying he was deemed too fat to fly.
Smith was flying from Oakland to Burbank and was, according to his own tweets, already seated and ready to go when a Southwest attendant named Suzanne "told me Captain Leysath deemed me a 'safety risk.'"
