So there might not be an NHL season this year…or it might start late…whatever.  The league should be embarrassed that anyone even knows that there is some sort of dispute.  Figure it out kids.  I like watching hockey.  I like playing hockey.  I like talking about hockey.  What I don’t like is having to talk about hockey players, unions, team owners and hockey commissioners not being able to agree on how to share millions and millions of dollars.  We know you make lots of money.  Stop reminding us.  We accept the fact that you get paid to do something that most of us actually pay to do.  Yes, you are better at hockey than the rest of us…but in the end, who cares?  I’m not going to get all indignant and say if the NHL season is compromised that I will never watch it again.  That would be a lie.  I will likely watch NHL hockey again.  But you know what?  I will find something else to occupy my time.  The last time the NHL was locked out, I didn’t miss it all.  No kidding.  And when it came back, I watched, but I didn’t look forward to it with the same fervor that I used to.  I didn’t make an appointment to sit down and watch a game.  It had lost something.  The bottom line is…the NHL is fun to watch, but it is not necessary to anyone’s personal life.  We can live without watching your game at home.  Unfortunately there are many businesses that can’t.  Bars, restaurants, souvenir shops and more all rely on your sport being on TV.  Not to mention all the employees at all the arenas (and more) that rely on their jobs to support their families. So stop being a bunch of selfish rich dickheads and figure it out.
