Gobblers

Thanks to that Bills’ game Sunday, I managed to barf up all my turkey and pumpkin pie.  But at least I know what caused the queasiness in my barley sculpted gut.  Buffalo coach Chan Gailey still doesn’t know what the hell happened in San Francisco.  After giving up over 600 yards and a 45-3 loss Gailey said, ‘I have no answer.  I have no excuse.  But I have to find the answer.  That’s my job’.

Really?  You don’t have the answer to why your team supremely and embarrassing suck?  You didn’t look at the stats after the game?  A three year old knows the answer.  The Bills couldn’t defend against the Lingerie Football League, let alone an NFL team.  Why didn’t the coach simply say, ‘we got our arses kicked.  Our defensive line didn’t get to the quarterback and our secondary was outhustled?’  Instead, we get the vacuous response, ‘I have no answer?

Coaches are supposed to lead their teams.  And when things go bad they have to recognize the problems and vow they will be fixed.  It’s obvious the Bills hired this guy way too quickly.  He’s an old time coach who can’t adapt to the ways of today’s NFL.  Us Canadians bought him the tools to get this club into the playoffs, but so far the season has been an utter disaster.  Buddy Nix—do us all a favour and send his wrinkled butt back to the old folks home and bring in a creative guy who can inspire.  Because that’s what the Bills need right now.  Inspiration, not desperation.
