I got married 3 weeks ago.  

In the last 3 weeks...I’ve heard ‘How’s married life treating ya?” at least 4 times a day.

“How’s married life treating ya?” is a question equivalent to “Hot enough for ya?”

It’s pointless.

The question, like “Is it hot enough for ya?”, is just an unnecessary acknowledgement.

Don’t get me wrong.  I appreciate that people care...but I’m not sure how to answer it.

“How’s married life treating ya KK?”

“Great!  Getting laid every night!”

Or...

“Awesome! We’re into the anal beads phase now.”

How does one respond?

To me...getting and being married should be no big deal to anyone else. 

I don’t like being put in a position to talk about my personal life while I’m standing at the office coffee machine.

“How’s married life treating ya?” is now a string of words that sends the same chills down my spine that I get when I hear nails scrape down a chalkboard.

And when does it end?  After a month?  2 months? 

 I’ve been told it lasts about a year....and then the question turns into...

”So..When are you having a baby?”

Sigh....

Married life is fine...in fact it’s just the same as it was before we got married.

Life is good. Life is fun.  Thanks for asking.
