New SOUNDGARDEN - New EDDIE VEDDER

Let's start with the new video, if we can call it that, from Soundgarden. The good news is that Soundgarden are back together with a great new song. Bad news is the video stinks. "Live to Rise" is the key track on the Marvel Avengers movie soundtrack. It's a great way for the band to get their new song out into the mainstream by associating itself with a blockbuster movie. Maybe a sell-out but at this point who cares as long as Soundgarden are putting out new music. The video though, is another one of those videos that cuts highlights of the movie with lame footage of band in an abandoned warehouse (how cliche). A small part in each of them must have died that day. Here ya go:

Next up is a new Eddie Vedder song. For a lot fringe Pearl Jam fans his solo stuff is hit-and-miss. This one is more of a "hit".

“Skipping” its part of a new compilation called “Every Mother Counts,” named for an advocacy and mobilization campaign to address maternal mortality during pregnancy.  The campaign claims a woman dies every 90 seconds from complications of pregnancy, and 90% of these deaths are preventable.

The album  features music from the "usual suspects" like David Bowie, U2, Sting, Coldplay, the Dave Matthews Band and others with 13 of the 19 songs previously unreleased. I hope they're good. The compilation album apparently is available at Starbucks exclusively from May 1st to May 29th to celebrate Mother's Day.
