99 Problems by Jay Z kills.... maybe that's why rock bands glom onto it.

When Linkin Park and Jay Z hooked up back in 2004  - it felt.....natural....as much as white-boys-doing-a-rap-classic could be.

But when Coldplay used the original recording as their "walk on" music - it wasn't.

It is a strange thing to hear such a slammin song preceed the parade of dainty - wussy Coldplay songs.

Before Green Day's American Idiot arena tour, the Village People's "YMCA" blasted through the speakers just before they stepped on the stage.

In both cases it cranked  up the crowd....Coldplay needed it... Green Day didn't.

This weekend Jay Z trotted out on stage with Pearl Jam and together they jammed out 99 Problems and it was good fun. I'm sure the PJ fans loved it... but if was a Jay Z fan I'd be asking, "what tha f*** ?"

I like this better... love the way the song weave together.
