New Rolling Stones
The new Stones song "Doom & Gloom" is really good. For a band who once billed themselves as the "world's greatest rock and roll band", they haven't lived up to that for most of their career. For ten, maybe fifteen years the Rolling Stones were blazing. With their best work decades behind them, this new song proves that there is still something left in tank .....and we Stones fans will take it. They'll never make albums like they did in the 70's but "Doom & Gloom" holds up. Check it out:
There's a new docu-movie coming out about the band's history called Crossfire Hurricane. It's not for us Stones fans...although it will be US who will sit through it, but it's for a generations of music fans who have no clue who they are why anyone should care. Just any kid. It's a story about a nortious band who defined rock's darker underside more than any band....at least, that's what they meant to me. I make no apologies for the hit n miss of the last 20 or 30 years but we could use a band like the (old) Stones today.
