Aerosmith - Live In Boston
Instead of watching election results, watch THIS.
Aerosmith performed outside the apartment "where it all began". They lived there in squalor between 1970-72.
Cue in to the 38 minute mark when things get rolling. If you're into old skool Aerosmith fan, you'll luv this. Just Aerosmith on a flatbed & their songs. No big production deal. On this day, they had to get by on music alone.
To fit the occasion they'll played lots of old stuff. Opening riffs of "Same Ol' Song & Dance gave way to "Walk The Dog" and then to the first song they ever wrote together, "Movin' Out" and then "Mama Kin" to complete the 3 song suite of songs from the band's debut album.
Then came the new single "Lover A Lot"; a trifecta of early Aerosmith classics: "Back In the Saddle", "Sweet Emotion" & "Walk This Way". Throw in a rarity, ("Mother Popcorn") another new song ("Oh Yeah") that is very much in the vein of early Aerosmith...and cap it off with a rippin' version of "Train Kept a Rolling". No power ballads on this day....just the dirty, gritty grooves that earned them their rep'. What else could you ask for!
The best news is that they played and sounded great. 40 years in, Aerosmith have lost none of their swagger.
