New Alice In Chains
I'm a sucker for a good video. A good video can make me "hear" a new song in a different way...if anything, it will make me pay attention. Rock videos were really lame for a long time but now bands seem to be investing in them again now that they've found a way to ca$h-in on all those shared YouTube views.
Alice In Chains spent a lot of money a couple of years ago on some of the videos for the their comeback album, Black Gives Way To Blue. They're back again with a new song and TWO videos. The band posted the lyrics to "Hollow" and asked fans to contribute images they felt fit lyrics in the song. The assembled lyrical video is stunning. They could have left it at that but the band replied with their own high budget - high concept video. Like the video for "Your Decision", this one is inspired by Stanley Kubrick. Think 2001 A Space Odessey.
