PM In The AM Blog...Mar 16th 2010: Thanks Ever So Much, ISP
Last Monday (the 8th) I called to switch my Internet service from my old residence to my new one. I was told That it would take four days (!). I would have my internet by Friday, March 12th. Seems a little long in this day and age especially when the technicians do not require access to the premises, non? Guess what didn't arrive? Due to weekend commitments and such, I could not attend to this until yesterday. One 70-minute phone call later (!) and I learned one thing: My Internet Service Provider aggravates me.But I imagine it doesn't really matter who you deal with, customer service is D-E-A-D. Dead as Dillinger, I tells ya.
I was informed that there was a "complication" with my move order and that it would take another four days. Abso-totally unacceptable. I had to switch my package as the one I had is not available in the new place. I was informed of this back on the 8th and so I changed my service package. Evidently, this was the "hiccup" alluded to earlier.
Brutal.
I was promised yesterday that my internet would be set up by 11:59pm tonight (March 16th). Now we all know that those technicians don't work beyond 4- or 5pm. I'm now headed home to anxiously check my internet presence. If it isn't there, I guess I'll have to break up with my provider (I figure the threat alone might get them to ante up some freebs). We've been together for just about eight years. What a complete and utter nuisance. Honestly.
