To coincide with Soundgarden's summer-long slot on Lollapalooza 1992, A&M issued a limited-edition two-disc set of the band's breakthrough 1991 album, Badmotorfinger, entitled Badmotorfinger/somms (satanoscillatemymetallicsonatas). The first CD was identical to the original Badmotorfinger release, but the second disc was comprised of five rarities -- most previously issued only in the U.K. as B-sides. The band had always been vocal about their broad listening tastes and influences, which is evidenced by their choice of covers: Devo's "Girl U Want," The Rolling Stones' "Stray Cat Blues," and Black Sabbath's "Into the Void" (the latter featured Sab's music, but the lyrics are from Chief Sealth). Read More
