The Lincoln County Humane Society announcing a new move toward saving the lives of our feline friends.
Starting this Thursday, November 7th the LCHS will be drastically reducing adoption fees for cats both young and old.
The current $99 fee will drop to a mere $25 in an effort to find homes for the 100 or so cats that call the shelter home.
LCHS Executive Director Kevin Strooband says for $25, adoptive owners will get a cat that is spayed or neutered, rabies shots, microchipped, dewormed and deflead, with pet insurance.
Strooband says " there are too many cats and they are responding to the community by doing their part as an organization that rehomes animals."
He adds they hope the community steps forward and also makes donations to the LCHS so they continue with this life saving program.
