CUPE files complaint against Lincoln County Humane Society

5/4/2012

The union representing striking workers at the Lincoln County Humane Society has filed a complaint with Ontario's Labour Relations Board.

CUPE Local 1287 charges that the humane society bargained in bad faith.

CUPE National Representative Dean Mainville says the humane society's offers have been getting "progressively worse" since November.  Mainville says the proposals were designed to provoke workers to strike & keep them there.

CUPE says last week, they were told the humane society intends to eliminate all full-time jobs in their bargaining unit.

About a dozen workers at the Lincoln County Humane Society have been walking picket lines since the end of February.
