The OPP are supporting Niagara's Prescription Drop Off program that officially launches today.

They are also considering the pilot program for province wide use.

Meanwhile, Niagara's first ever Prescription Drug Drop Off program will get underway at ten o'clock this morning and last until three this afternoon.

There are several locations throughout the region, all you have to do is go to niagara www.niagararegion.ca/health to find a location nearest you.

Members of the OPP Drug Enforcement Agency, Highway Safety Division and others will help Niagara Regional Police and the Public Health Department with the collection.

Misuse of these types of drugs has led to the birth of this program.

A recent study showed that 24 per cent of Niagara teens have reported misusing prescription drugs at least once within the last year, with most of them saying they got them from home.
