Niagara Falls Woman Assaulted by Foster Son

5/23/2012

A Niagara Falls woman suffered serious but non life threatening injuries after she was attacked with a garden shovel and frying pans by her foster son.

Police arrived at a home on Thorold Stone Road Tuesday morning to find a woman suffering from blows to the face, head, arms and body.

The 16 year old boy had fled the scene and was arrested later by Durham Regional Police in Ajax and returned to Niagara.

He has been charged with attempted murder and is being held in custody pending a bail hearing Thursday (May 24).

His name cannot be released because he is a minor.

Police continue to investigate.
