A Welland man is facing arson charges for setting fire to his own truck.

An investigation stretching back to April 29th has led to the arrest of the 31 year old man.

Police responded to a fire in a parking lot in on Niagara Street in Welland to find a vehicle engulfed in flames.

The truck sustained three thousand dollars in damage.

Charged with arson for a fraudulent purpose is Steven Bissonnette of Welland the owner of the truck.

The accused was released with several conditions.
