Wallenda Walks Into History Books

6/16/2012

Nik Wallenda has made history.

He is the first person to walk across Niagara Falls on a tightrope.

He walked calmly and slowly from the U-S side to the Canadian side, where customs officers were there to greet him.

Over 100-thousand people showed up on the Canadian side to watch Wallenda.

10-thousand on the U.S. side.

Wallenda started the stunt at 10:17 p.m. and completed the walk at 10:41 p.m.

The Niagara Parks Commission will unveil a plaque of daredevil Nik Wallenda at a BBQ luncheon in his honour today.

The meet and greet will allow the public and media to hear directly from Wallenda.

Plaques will be installed at the Niagara Parks attraction, Journey Behind the Falls and White Water Walk.

The event will take place at Edgewaters Restaurant at noon and last for about an hour and a half.

There is a 25 dollar cost per person for the buffet lunch.
