Two sex trade workers attacked in St.Catharines

Police have made one arrest and are looking for another suspect after two sex trade workers were allegedly attacked in St.Catharines early Monday morning.
Officers say the first incident happened at 2am when a 34 year old prostitute was walking on Queenston Street near Page.
She got into a vehicle with two men and when an argument broke out she was punched in the face by driver.
The victim got out of the vehicle and a concerned motorist drove her to the St. Catharines General Hospital.
She was treated with minor facial injuries and released.
At 3am officers were then called to Oakdale Avenue and Merritt Street after a female sex trade worker was driven to a secluded area near Hartzel Rd. and Lincoln Ave.
When she tried to leave the vehicle she was forced to remain inside.
She eventually escaped, but was then pursued by the suspects while driving their vehicle.
The victim was able to hide and call 9-1-1.
Police tracked down the truck on Richmond Street in Thorold, with one male driver.
18 year old Christopher Mcgean of St. Catharines is charged with one count of Assault, and has been remanded into custody pending the results of a Bail Hearing. It is anticipated that further charges will be laid.
The identity of the second suspect is unknown at this time, he is described as white, 18-20 years old, wearing baggy clothes and a baseball hat.
