Man accused of killing St.Catharines teen facing sex related charges

The man accused of killing Maddie Hood in St.Catharines in July is now facing additional charges.

19 year old Cassell Farnsworth has been charged with 1st Degree Murder and Arson: Disregard for Human Life after Hood was found dead following a fire in her basement apartment on East Hampton Road July 7th.

Farnsworth is now facing these charges:

-Luring a child under the age of sixteen years for the purpose of facilitating the offence of Invitation to Sexual Touching

-Invitation to Sexual Touching

-Luring a child under the age of eighteen years for the purpose of facilitating the offence of make child pornography

-Luring a child under the age of eighteen years for the purpose of facilitating the offence of distribute child pornography

-Possession of Child Pornography

-Lure a child for the purpose of facilitating the offence of Exposure

-Exposure

-Luring a child under the age of eighteen years for the purpose of facilitating the offence of communicate for the purpose of obtaining or consideration for the sexual services

The additional charges are related to a young female victim who has been identified and is safe as a result of this ongoing investigation.

The charges are not related to Hood's murder.

Today, during a scheduled court appearance Cassell Farnsworth was advised of the additional charges that have been alleged against him.

Farnsworth remains in custody.
