Niagara Regional Police are wrapping up the search for more body parts in the Niagara River following the discovery of a woman's torso last Wednesday.
The NRP says it will only resume the search if new information becomes available but in the meantime, the focus is trying to identify the woman.
Inspector Jim McCaffery says that's the first priority in order to bring closure to the woman's family.
Investigators say a preliminary post-mortem indicates the torso belongs to a white woman between 20 and 40 years old.
Police say she was the victim of a homicide, but McCaffery says they won't release the cause of death until the autopsy results are complete.
It's believed the torso may have been in the water for four to 10 days before being discovered.
