No majority for McGuinty Liberals
The governing Liberals held on to Vaughan but were denied a majority by an N-D-P victory in Kitchener-Waterloo in yesterday's byelections.
Steven Del Duca took Vaughan for the Liberals, but Catherine Fife spoiled the night for the Liberals by taking Kitchener-Waterloo for the New Democrats.
Premier McGuinty was looking for a majority to ease his government's fights with public sector unions over a wage freeze.
The results mean the McGuinty Liberals will still have to continue to court Tory or N-D-P support to get legislation passed.
