A couple of anglers from Welland won't be casting lines any time soon after they were busted for poaching salmon eggs during a closed season in 20 Mile Creek in Jordan.
The Ministry of Natural Resources says Philip Little and Jeffery Wiles were spotted by a conservation officers milking the eggs from a fish in to a nylon sock last October.
The eggs were confiscasted and sent to a lab where it was confirmed the eggs were Pacific salmon, which weren't in season at that time.
The two men were each fined $1,500, banned from fishing for two years, and sentenced to 60 hours of community service.
