The driver of a dump truck that struck the Lundy's Lane overpass in Niagara Falls is facing charges.
Fifty nine year old Robert Pitt of Port Colborne has been charged with careless driving and failing to complete a pre trip inspection.
OPP Constable Graham Williamson tells 610 CKTB news the truck's elevated dump box struck the Lundys Lane overpass over the QEW around 10 o'clock yesterday morning.
A minivan was also involved in that crash and a woman was airlifted to hospital in Toronto.
Her condition has been upgraded to non life threatening.
Williamson says the investigation into a second accident on the Fort Erie bound QEW at Thorold Stone Road is continuing.
The clean up was just completed around five this morning.
An hour after the first accident, two big rigs were involved in a chain reaction crash.
The one transport dumped a load of metal shavings and dust on the roadway which took hours to clean up.
No charges have been laid yet.
Williamson says the condition of one of the drivers, who was also airlifted to hospital, has been upgraded as well to non life threatening.
