9/27/2012

Police have made in arrest in a stabbing that happened last month in St. Catharines.

On August 19th, cops were called to St. Catharines General after a 36-year-old man was brought in with a stab wound.  The injury wasn't considered life threatening.

After a lengthy investigation, police have arrested 32-year-old Niagara Falls resident Mahamet Tiber, charging him with aggravated assault.

The stabbing took place during a soccer tournament in the Garden City.  It was believed a dispute on the pitch led to the attack but police say that isn't the case.

Police are still looking for more information and are asking any witnesses to the stabbing to give them a call.
