A bit of rain is nothing compared to the battle against breast cancer.

That was the spirit as the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation -CIBC Run for the Cure kicked off this morning in St Catharines.

The Run for the Cure is the largest single day volunteer led event, raising over 30 million across the country last year.

The money is used to fund research, education, awareness and advocacy intiatives.

The Niagara event was held at the Grantham Lions Club.

CKTB entered a team in this year's event.
