The Ontario Fire Marshal's office is looking into an early morning fire that claimed the life of a senior in Stoney Creek.

Firefighters pulled the woman from a burning townhouse on Gateshead Crescent  just after two o'clock this morning.

She was rushed to Hamilton General hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The investigation is on going.
