It's that time of year again, time for a flu shot

10/22/2012

The region's public health department is asking you to be prepared for flu season.

From Oct. 24 to Nov. 15, Niagara Region Public Health will hold community seasonal flu immunization clinics at locations across Niagara.

Public health says unless there is a medical reason not to, everyone six months of age and older can benefit from getting a flu shot.

All clinics are open to the public and no appointment is required.

As well, pharmacists are now able to give you a shot thanks to expanded powers announced by the Ontario government last week.

You are asked to bring your Ontario health card and driver’s licence to the chosen clinic but you can still get the shot even if you do not have either piece of identification.

For the clinic schedule, just go to www.niagararegion.ca/health or call the Flu Clinic Information Line at 905-688-8248 or 1-888-505-6074 ext. 7443.
