The Greater Fort Erie Chamber of Commerce is urging residents to sign a petition protesting proposed electoral boundary changes to reflect shifts in population found in the last census.
The plan on the table right now is to shift Fort Erie from the Niagara Falls riding to Welland.
In the petition, the chamber points out as a border town, Fort Erie shares similar interests and concerns with Niagara Falls and Niagara on the Lake, and has forged valuable relationships with both municipalities who also serve as gateways to the region.
The petition will be presented at a public hearing on the boundary changes set for Monday, Oct. 29th at Niagara Falls city hall.
