It has taken almost a decade but your passport will soon have a new look.
MP for Niagara Falls and Federal Justice Minister Rob Nicholson has announced that Canada's new ePassport will showcase a city probably close to his heart, Niagara Falls.
It will be one of 16 images that honour Canada's sovereign north, the country's builders and even the Stanley Cup.
The new e-Passports will have chip technology.
The first five year ePassports will be issued in select locations during the first quarter of 2013.
Production will ramp up through the spring resulting in the full availability of both a 5- and 10- year ePassport in early summer.
