Making false accusations against police has landed a Port Colborne man in hot water.

41 year old John Kadwell has been charged with public mischief for allegedly blaming a hand injury on some rough treatment by cops

Kadwell went to a local hospital with two fractured bones in his right hand.

He is accused of contacing police saying his injuries were caused by the use of excessive force by an NRP officer.

The provinces Special Investigations Unit was called in and determined the man intentionally misled police about the cause of his injuries.
