The two Rottweilers that mauled a five year old girl in Pelham earlier this month have been put down.

The Welland Humane Society says it euthanized the dogs at the request of the owner last Wednesday.

The dogs left the little girl in criticial condition after the viscious attack.

The Humane Society's executive director says given the severity of the attack they would have recommended the dogs be put down as well.
