Thanks to a one million dollar private donation, Brock University is beginning work on a commemorative project to celebrate the school's namesake, Major General Sir Isaac Brock.

The university will be issuing a formal request this month for proposals from artists interested in designing and creating the project

The school says the enterprise will feature a gathering space with integrated landscaping, lighting and seating that will become a visiting point for the public.

The project is expected to be completed in 2014 which is also the school's 50th anniversary.
