Police and emergency crews are on the scene of an accident in St. Catharines at Scott Street and Vine Street.

The intersection is closed off while the Niagara Regional Police re-construction unit continues to investigate.

At the moment there is one person who is being attended to by EMS and is on the way to the hospital.

Meanwhile, police are looking for the driver of a vehicle who hit another vehicle from behind in Merritton and then took off.

The accident happened on Hastings and Chestnut.

Police continue to investigate.
