Crash in St.Catharines leaves senior in critical condition
It was quite the drive home from work Friday as Niagara received it's first real taste of winter.
A number of fender benders kept police busy in the afternoon, but no serious injuries are reported.
Earlier in the day at 2:30pm a three vehicle crash closed down the intersection of Scott and Vine in St. Catharines.
Police say an 87-year-old St. Catharines man was driving his Cadillac west on Scott approaching Vine Street when he lost control of his vehicle.
The Cadillac entered the intersection during a red light, and then crashed into another car.
The Cadillac suddenly reversed and crashed into another vehicle.
The 87-year-old was taken to the St. Catharines General Hospital with life-threatening injuries, and remains in hospital in critical condition at this time.
The drivers and passengers of the other two vehicles were not hurt.
The weather is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
