Niagara Falls couple have 15 million reasons to smile in 2013

1/3/2013

The year 2013 should be a great year for a Niagara Falls couple, especially since they have 15 million reasons to smile.

Stanley and Lottie Czaplicki picked up their Lotto 6/49 Jackpot win of just over 15 and a half million dollars today ( Thursday Jan. 3).

The win was even a bigger surprise on New Years Day because the couple had gone to bed on December 29th thinking they had won 15 thousand.

It wasn't until the next morning, when Stanley was standing at the counter of a convenience store, when another customer let him know it was 15 million, not thousand.

The 83 year old Stanley, who worked at GM for 32 years, was speechless.

His wife Lottie says the win comes a year after Stanley almost died and that he was meant to live so he could collect this jackpot.

The couple has been playing 6/49 for over 30 years.

The ticket was the 40th winning jackpot ticket in Ontario in 2012 and was purchased at Metro Grocery on Montrose Road in Niagara Falls.
