Jury Selection begins in first degree murder trial for St. Catharines man accused in death of a Toronto cop
Jury selection is to begin today in a Toronto court at the trial of a St. Catharines man accused of driving a stolen snowplow that killed a policeofficer.
Richard Kachkar has pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder and dangerous driving in the death of Sergeant Ryan Russell.
Kachkar's lawyer Bob Richardson says because of some scheduling issues the trial proper will begin with opening statements on February 4th.
Russell died a year ago after being struck while trying to stop a snowplow during a chase through Toronto streets.
