A busy morning for police in Niagara, as icy roads contributed to two serious collisions.
An air ambulance was called in to bring a lone female driver to Hamilton hospital after her car left the roadway on Grassie Road in the town of Lincoln.
NRP spokesman Constable Rich Gadreau says she was airlifted as a precaution because of the length of time it took to free her from her vehicle.
A second accident involving two vehicles on Burkett Road in Wainfleet sent another person to Welland General hospital with possible internal injuries.
Gadreau says icy road conditions also contributed to several other minor accidents in the area.
He says police are advising motorists to be extra careful with the wet roads particularly later this afternoon when the temperature starts to drop which could cause roads to freeze up again.
