Another blow to job numbers in Niagara

Employees at Vertis Communications in Stevensville were called into a meeting at 10am Wednesday and told the plant was closing immediately.

Former Employee Mark tells CKTB since the parent company filed for bankrupts protection in the summer, they had an idea this was coming.

Still he says there were some tears and red eyes in the room.

Mark says they will be getting vacation and personal pay, but they have to apply to the bankruptcy court in the US for any severance and termination pay.

The closure impacts an estimated 100 jobs.
