Guilty plea in wrong way driving death on St. Catharines Skyway
A young man who drove drunk the wrong way on the QEW in St. Catharines has pleaded guilty to impaired driving causing death.
Kyle Thomas of Niagara Falls was 20 at the time when he drove his car the wrong way on the Niagara Street off ramp in July of 2010, hitting a car head on with a family from Kitchener inside on the Skyway.
The crash killed a 50 year old man who was a passenger in the vehicle driven by his wife.
The Crown is expected to ask for a three year jail term.
