Expect delays as construction on new watermains begins on St. Paul in the Garden City

Expect traffic delays starting as construction to replace aging watermains in downtown St Cartharines begins today.
St Paul will be closed from Ontario Street to Queend Street starting today as crews work on the William Street intersection.
The city warns one block sections of St Paul between William and Court will continue until the end of May on an intermittent basis as crews replace two old cast iron watermains.
Signs are posted directing traffic to King Street to get around the construction.
Sidewalks will remain open although small sections may close for safety reasons.
Parking is also available on King, Queen and James along with nearby municipal lots .
