Ontario's outgoing premier Dalton McGuinty joined Prime Minister Stephen Harper today to announce millions of dollars in funding for a new assembly line for a Toyota plant in Cambridge.
Almost 34-million dollars has been ear-marked from Ottawa and Ontario so the car-maker can increase production of its Lexus luxury cars, including a new hybrid model.
Toyota will put 125 million dollars toward the new assembly line.
The initiative -- called Project Lexus -- is expected to generate about 400 jobs at the Cambridge plant.
