An accident Monday night in Niagara Falls has claimed the life of one of four occupants inside a vehicle that careened out of control on Schisler Road near Lyons Creek.

The car left the roadway, crashed through a wooded lot, struck several trees then caught on fire.

All four managed to escape the flames but one of  the occupants, who sustained life threatening injuries, was rushed to ECMC in Buffalo.

Police say the hospital informed them yesterday the man had died from his injuries.

The name of the victim will not be released until his family is notified.
