Special weather statement issued for Southern Ontario

2/6/2013

Environment Canada is tracking an Alberta clipper that could combine with a Texas low and bring some heavy snowfall to most of Southern Ontario.

Light snow expected to begin tomorrow afternoon with heavier snowfall in the evening into Friday.

Right now it looks like an area from Grand Bend to Hamilton to Kingston will bring snowfall amounts between 10 and 15 cm.

Lower snowfall amounts are forecast for Niagara, with 5 to 10 cm possible.

The weather office cautions, it's still too early to predict the exact timing and amount of snow we will get at this time.

Further weather statements will be released as meteorologists pinpoint the storm.
