The Port Colborne/Wainfleet Family Literacy Event set for this morning will go on as planned.

Organizers say the massive storm to hit Niagara yesterday has not put a dark cloud over the event.

The theme this year is Past is Present and it takes place at the Port Colborne/Wainfleet Community Living centre at 100 McRae Avenue.

Athor Nancy Rotella will be on hand for the family friendly event that will allow kids to listen to silly songs and dance to music from Brian and Friends, face painting, snacks, and reading.

The festivities run from 9:30 this morning and run until 12:30 this afternoon.
