Police searching for a suspect who held up the Avondale on Richmond Street in Thorold late last night.

The suspect approached the lone employee armed with a knife, and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police say the bandit fled the scene in a beige 1999 Chrysler Cirrus that was reported stolen from St. Catharines earlier in the evening.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
