The Niagara Health System says one outbreak is now over at one hospital, but officials are trying to control a new outbreak in another.
An oubreak of VRE in the surgical unit at the St Catharines general site has ended.
Meanwhile the NHS is experiencing an enteric oubreak at Fort Erie's Douglas Memorial site, where three patients have fallen ill with enteric-like symptoms.
Enteric viruses cause gastrointestinal illness. Symptoms include upset stomach, vomiting, stomach cramps, diarrhea, low grade fever and chills.
