Niagara Police say reports of a home invasion led to drug charges in Thorold.

Officers were called to a home on Deerfield Parkway around 11pm Wednesday, after two armed men allegedly broke into the home and confronted the two men inside.

The invasion suspects fled, but when police arrived they say they found evidence of an illicit drug operation in the basement.

Police are continuing to investigate with the occupants in custody.

The two initial suspects fled in a dark coloured vehicle.
